John Wood in Colorado This Week

Room to Read CEO (and CU Boulder alum) John Wood will be in Colorado this week for several events, a couple of which are open to the public:

(1) Wednesday, March 14, 5-6:30 pm, CU Fleming Auditorium in Boulder: John Wood will lecture about his experience of leaving an executive post at Microsoft seven years ago to found Room to Read, a non-profit that has now established over 3000 libraries in the developing world and placed over 2000 girls on scholarship to ensure they can afford primary and secondary education.

(2) Thursday, March 15, 5:30-7 pm, Sherpas Restaurant, 825 Walnut in Boulder: This is a chapter building event for the newly formed Room to Read Rockies Chapter, which raises awareness and funds for Room to Read. John Wood will speak for about 20 minutes around 6 pm, but the remainder of the event will consist primarily of mingling, free hors d'oeuvres, and a cash bar.

If you're interested in sustainable methods to end global poverty and live along Colorado's Front Range, I would encourage you to attend one or both of these events and to become involved with Room to Read's newly formed Rockies Chapter.

Also, I have created a free Google-based search engine that donates 100% of its revenue to Room to Read. The search engine address is http://www.roomtosearch.com/. If you haven't done so already, please check it out, set it as your homepage, and spread the word. I want to thank Randy Gonzalez for the new logo, which looks fantastic!
