Forbes has a few relevant articles on their site today:
- Adopting A Crusade
- Doing Well, Doing Good (Requires free registration)
- Commentary: Benefactors Must Be Hardheaded
- Special Report: The 200 Largest U.S. Charities
My biggest takeaway from the articles was a statistic in the Adopting a Crusade article: there are 1 million orphans in China, and only 6,500 Chinese orphans were adopted in 2006. If true, that's a sad story.
I also liked a Carnegie quote from the Benefactors Must Be Hardheaded article: "[The] man who dies rich dies disgraced."
