World Bank Questions its Role

An article in the Financial Times reveals a refreshing fact: the World Bank now realizes it's in competition with other organizations, including public charities and private foundations. As such they realize they need to better understand their comparitive advantage and focus on the areas where they can make the greatest benefit.

Competition is a major driver of economic benefit for societies and individuals, and hopefully more governmental and non-governmental organizations will engage in friendly competition that results in better outcomes in the fight against global poverty.
