Newsweek: How to Heal the World

The October 1, 2007 of Newsweek has the headline "How to Heal the World." The online version of Newsweek includes web-only interactive features, such as the opportunity to submit questions to Bill Gates for an upcoming web forum. Below is the full list of features:

I thought A Reward for Good Behavior was a particularly interesting read. Basically, a philanthropist is offering a $5 million reward to any democratically elected African head-of-state who steps down at the end of his or her term with no blemishes on their record. The intent is to offer a lucrative alternative to corruption. Interesting idea. The article isn't convinced it will work.

The interactive Our Greatest Challenges is a concise overview of 10 global issues, including infectious disease, clean water, hunger, human rights, education, economic development, etc.
